I'm sure this comes as a surprise to no one, but I was on Amazon.com tonight to get the artwork for Ill Niño's 'Enigma' so that I may embed the artwork to my music files on iTunes and saw that both 'Enigma' and 'The Under Cover Sessions' EP have been discontinued. I checked FYE and Best Buy's sites as well and they both list 'Enigma' as "Out of Stock" and want almost $50.00 for it. So, it seems true to me now that quietly, Cement Shoes Records now "sleeps with the fishes" (they had that coming with their name!). Seeing as to how we now know Ill Niño is shopping around for a new record label, it gives more credence to the rumor. It just sucks to me that this happened to the boys. Hopefully they get picked up by a label who actually markets and puts their bands on decent tours. I personally have a sneaky suspicion they will like Otep, end up on Victory Records, I dunno why. Which I wouldn't mind as they advertise their bands a lot (every try watching Headbangers Ball and NOT seeing a Victory Records comercial?). In any case folks, for those of us who happened to actually support the boys in their dark times and went out and BOUGHT 'Enigma', it seems like we now have ourselves a bit of a collector's item.

woah fucking hell really? thats fucking bad!, i think there is no way of contacting CSR now anways seeing as there website and myspace hasnt been used since last august or something and i would try by phone but fuck doing that cos i live in the UK lmao, but thats seems fucked up if they have discontinued both the albums!?, ive looked around on uk sites and both amazon uk, and play.com ( biggest online retailers) have it in stock but that might be because it was released by AFM Records over seas. But even still thats bad on Ill Nino's part tho , i just wish they would get signed!! its been ages since they said they left CSR which was like January! it cant be long now can it? and like you said man it seems as though the true fans who bought enigma and still support the guys, we have a collectors item right now! cos i bought both Enigma and Undercover sessions from USA instead of UK.

I think the boys are just taking their time this time and really trying to get a good deal going. Cement Shoes Records was an upstart label, success on there was not guaranteed. The label went under and unfortunately the boys were the last band to be let out of their contracts, most likely because as I said, rumor has it, Cement Shoes Records went under. It no longer exists. The lack of updates on ANY of their sites seems to suggest this is the case. Let's just be patient and see what happens in the next few months. Last I heard, they were getting ready to start working on the new album. My hope for those who never had a chance to get these two releases is that whatever label they end up on re-release them. I'm not sure how all of the legal stuff will go with that because well...CSR doesn't exist anymore. But, we'll just have to wait and see.

Well good riddance. It's fucked up to say due to all the people that lost their jobs, but I've never witnessed a label handle their bands as bad as Cement Shoes did. Lumping them all together just to make a tour package instead of actually getting their bands on a good tour (Congress of Corruption) and the constant delays (The Under Cover Sessions was delayed once, wasn't it and Enigma about what, 12,000 times?) and non releases (where's that Me Gusta la Soledad video that was shot and supposedly edited, etc.?). And who pays? The bands and the fans. It's sad that most people nowadays ask, "Oh yeah, what have you heard, what are they up to?" when it comes to Ill Nino instead of the old, "Yo, you going to the Ill Nino show coming up?" Oh well, here's hoping wherever they end up (VICTORY RECORDS PLEASE) they end up being taken care of.

I know what you mean its such a fucking shame that they have done that and basically fuck up Ill Niño's reputation and the fact people even knowing them etc etc, and its such a shame that Enigma and The Undercover Sessions will never ever be produced again and sold, soo many people will miss out on a piece of Ill Niño's history now and i fucking love both of those albums / ep. They just fucked up soo bad its unreal, but i reckon who ever they sign to next will treat them right and do good by them! im pretty damn sure about it!
